You want to move more but worry about doing too much

You might be about to start treatment, having treatment now or living with its effects. You want to feel stronger and do more of the things you enjoy.

Your energy keeps changing

You might do more on a good day, then feel wiped out. You’re unsure when to do more and when to ease back.

You need to work around your health

You may have pain or other health issues to think about. You want to know what is right for you.

You don’t know where to start

You’ve been told to stay active. But how much is enough? And how do you get going when you feel so tired?

You want to spend your energy on your life. You don’t want to spend it searching for advice that may not fit you.

One-to-one coaching
built around you

Personalised cancer exercise coaching. £169 a month.

You work with me, Dave Poole, an ACSM Cancer Exercise Specialist and Long-Term Conditions Coach. Together, we build a plan around your health, energy and what you want to get back to doing.

We start by talking about your health. If needed, we ask your GP or cancer team if exercise is right for you. I then build your plan. You follow it in your own time.

Each week, you tell me how you feel and how it went. I use that to change your plan. If you need to ease back, we ease back. When you’re ready for more, we build up.

What this gives you

  1. A starting point that fits you

Your exercise plan fits your treatment, health and goals. You know what to start with, so you don’t have to guess or try to keep up with someone else.

  2. A 30-minute catch-up every week

You get time to ask questions, talk about what felt hard and notice what went well. You have someone to help you stay on track when it feels hard to do it alone.

  3. Changes as your needs change

Your plan is reviewed each week. We use your feedback to decide what to keep, change or build on. Your next steps fit the week you’re having.

  4. Your exercises in one place

You find your plan in the Nowercise app and follow it at home, when it suits you. You can record what you do and how it feels. That helps us spot progress and decide what comes next.

  5. Help to pace your energy

The Nowercise 60% Fatigue Pacing Method helps us plan activity and rest around your energy. We adapt it to you. The aim is to keep some energy for the rest of your day.

  6. Support across the Five Levers

You get help with movement, fatigue pacing, food, sleep and stress. These are the Nowercise Five Levers. We look at what else may be making your week harder, then choose small changes that fit your life.

What clients say and
how they have progressed

“Dave’s caring and thoughtful approach works. I can’t recommend him highly enough.”

— Wendy

Wendy struggled to step up a kerb and relied on a walking stick. Her plan started with small amounts of exercise and changed around her needs. After four months, she got on and off trains and climbed about twenty steps on a trip to see family.

Reg

Reg found it hard to get going. He built up a bit at a time. He now exercises three times a week and gets plenty of steps in.

Rosie

Rosie felt very tired and used a walking stick. She has since been walking without her stick and going up hills.

Becca

Becca had only a short time before her operation. Her plan focused on building strength and fitness in the time she had.

These are their own experiences. Your goals and progress will be your own.

Your questions answered

Can I join while I am having cancer treatment?

You may be able to. It depends on your health and treatment. We look at your needs first and get advice or clearance from your cancer team where needed.

What if my energy changes or I have a bad week?

You tell me, and we change your plan. You may do less or take more time to rest. I won’t ask you to push through just to tick a box. If you have new or worse symptoms, speak to your cancer team.

How does online coaching work? Will you watch me exercise?

Your weekly call is a 30-minute coaching catch-up. You tell me how you feel, what went well and what felt hard. You do your exercises on your own at home using your plan in the Nowercise app; I don’t watch you exercise live or demonstrate movements on the call.

I help you get set up with the app and answer your questions if you get stuck. I then use your feedback to change your plan to suit your energy, your health and what you want to achieve.

You get a clear plan and someone in your corner. You don’t have to work it all out on your own.

Do I need a gym or lots of equipment?

No. Your plan can use what you have at home. You may only need a sturdy chair and a little space to start. If bands or weights would help later, I’ll tell you what to get. You don’t need to buy anything now.

Can I cancel anytime, and what is the happiness guarantee?

Yes. You can cancel anytime. You also get a 4-week happiness guarantee. No quibbles.
